DAY 1
Our Escorted Escape begins today as you fly from your nearest capital city to Sydney. Tonight is spent at the airport hotel where you can meet your host and share a welcome drink with your fellow travellers.

DAY 2
We fly to Johannesburg today. On arrival, we will be met by our tour leader and transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure within the Emperors Palace complex.

DAY 3
Today we fly from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls and transfer to our luxury lodge. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the lodge and look out for your first wildlife sightings. This evening is our Welcome Dinner, a feast for the senses as we enjoy a traditional dinner and drum show at the Boma.

DAY 4
Board the unforgettable ‘Flight of the Angels’ helicopter tour this morning and marvel at the majestic views of the falls and iconic Zambezi river from the air. We will also enjoy the panorama of the falls from land while exploring the national park. Take to the upper Zambezi river in the afternoon on a sunset cruise, keeping an eye out for the first game sightings of your trip!

DAY 5
Depart Zimbabwe and cross the border into Botswana. We’re heading for Kasane on the edge of Chobe National Park, where we will enjoy an afternoon game cruise on the magnificent Chobe River before returning to the lodge for dinner.

DAY 6
Experience Chobe National Park on an open-vehicle game drive this morning. Late in the afternoon, return to the river for a sunset game cruise, view herds of elephant and buffalo quenching their thirst by the water.

DAY 7
Today we head south to Nata for a night at the Elephant Sands Lodge. With no fences, wildlife is free to roam around the camp, offering you a unique up-close experience with the elephants. This evening we’ll sample a traditional bush braai (barbeque) dinner.

DAY 8
Farewell the elephants this morning and head to Maun, the gateway to the World Heritage listed Okavango Delta. You may wish to take an optional flight over the Delta to gain a unique perspective of the vast landscape.

DAY 9
Sit back and relax in your mokoro (traditional style canoe) as local guides paddle us through the narrow waterways of the Okavango Delta. Expect to see hippos and abundant birdlife from the water, and other game at a lunch stop at a local island.

DAY 10
Travel along the western edge of the Delta and into the Caprivi Strip region of Namibia. After a long travel day enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the upper reaches of the Okavango.

DAY 11
We begin today with an early morning game drive in the Mahango National Park, a remote area blessed with abundant wildlife. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. You may wish to partake in one of the camp’s optional bush walks or village visits to further explore the area.

DAY 12
Today is a long travel day but our destination, Etosha National Park, makes it worthwhile. The name Etosha is derived from the Oshiwambo and means “big, white place”, owing to its major feature – a salt pan so large it can be seen from space!

DAY 13
Discover the eastern corridor of Etosha National Park with morning and afternoon open-vehicle game drives. Despite the vast salt pan, there are numerous permanent waterholes which attract an abundance of wildlife, providing excellent game viewing opportunities.

DAY 14
Today our game drive takes us right across the park, exploring the salt pans, waterholes and wildlife en-route to Okaukuejo Resort, where we will spend the next two nights.

DAY 15
Explore the western region of Etosha on morning and afternoon game drives today. Make sure you visit the resorts famous floodlit waterhole during your free time for amazing up close wildlife viewing.

DAY 16
Farewell Etosha today and head south to the Skeleton Coast and Swakopmund. Swakopmund’s German origins are quite pronounced in the beautiful old German colonial buildings throughout the city, a stark contrast for this town sitting at the edge of the Namib desert.

DAY 17
This morning we depart the Walvis Bay Waterfront for a marine educational sightseeing tour in the bay area in search of the marine big 5: whales, dolphins, mola, leatherback turtle and seals. This afternoon is free for you to further explore Swakopmund, or alternatively to relax at the beach or your hotel.

DAY 18
Today is a free day to choose from a range of optional activities. You might like to explore the open-air markets, head to the National Marine Aquarium, or visit the local museum.

DAY 19
We head south today through the spectacular scenery of the Namib Maukluft National park en-route to Sossusvlei. On the way, keep your eyes open for oryx, springbok, and Hartmann’s mountain zebra. Enjoy dinner at the lodge on arrival.

DAY 20
Marvel at the incredible scenery today as we rise early to visit the world’s highest sand dunes at Soussusvlei and Deadvlei. You can climb Dune 45 if you’re feeling fit and energetic, before exploring Death Valley surrounded by 300m high sand dunes and petrified trees.

DAY 21
Today we drive through the remote regions of Southern Namibia to our lodge close to Fish River Canyon. Enjoy dinner on arrival while you take in the unique landscape.

DAY 22
Join a morning walk along the canyon rim trail for spectacular views across and into Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world. We will then continue south to our lodge on the banks of the Orange River.

DAY 23
Today we explore the region from the river on a canoeing trip downstream. Take in the picturesque area which forms the border between Namibia and South Africa, before returning to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 24
Farewell Namibia as we head south along the Western Cape of South Africa. We travel today to Citrusdal, a small town at the base of the scenic Cederberg mountains.

DAY 25
Take a short drive to reach the beautiful Western Cape wine region encompassing Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Enjoy lunch and a vineyard tour at Le Petite Ferme, nestled amoung the vineyards on the slopes of Olifants Pass. After lunch we’ll visit the historic Boschendal Wine Estate for cellar tour and wine tasting.

DAY 26
Sit back and enjoy the scenery on our way to Cape Town. On arrival we’ll join a city tour, take the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain and drive through the coastal suburbs of Clifton and Sea Point. The beautiful V&A waterfront is only a short walk from the hotel.

DAY 27
Today we’ll spend a full day exploring the stunning Cape Peninsula, following the coast down to the Cape of Good Hope – the views from the lighthouse are stunning! In the afternoon we’ll visit the fairy penguins at Simonstown.

DAY 28
Today is a free day to explore this stunning city before the group assembles for our farewell dinner. Take an optional trip out to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, stroll around the V&A waterfront or perhaps take the time to do some last minute shopping.

DAY 29
Our adventure in Africa comes to an end today. We’ll be transferred to Cape Town Airport for our flight to Johannesburg and onto Australia.

Our Escorted Escape concludes. On arrival, farewell your new friends and tour host as you head home.
