DAY 1

AUSTRALIA

Our Escorted Escape begins today as you fly from your nearest capital city to Sydney. Tonight is spent at the airport hotel where you can meet your host and share a welcome drink with your fellow travellers.

DAY 2

AUSTRALIA – JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA

Fly to Johannesburg. On arrival we will be transferred to our hotel. Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, BOTSWANA

This morning return to Johannesburg airport for our onward flight to Kasane, the gateway to Chobe National Park. Board a game cruise on the Chobe River before returning to the lodge for dinner.

DAY 4

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, BOTSWANA

Experience Chobe National Park on an open-vehicle game drive this morning. Chobe is home to the largest elephant population in the world. Late in the afternoon, return to the river for a sunset game cruise and enjoy a dinner feast on board.

DAY 5

VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE

Today we cross the border into Zimbabwe on our way to Victoria Falls. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, perhaps relaxing and watching the wildlife near the property. This evening we enjoy a group dinner at the famous restaurant Boma – Place of Eating.

DAY 6

VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE

Board the unforgettable ‘Flight of the Angels’ helicopter tour this morning and marvel at the majestic views of the falls and iconic Zambezi river from the air. We will also enjoy the panorama of the falls from land while exploring the national park with our guide. In the evening we take to the upper Zambezi on a sunset cruise.

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Today we fly from Victoria Falls to Cape Town. Spend the afternoon at your leisure – perhaps you might like to go shopping, exploring the local neighbourhoods or relax at your hotel.

DAY 8

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Explore the city of Cape Town today, beginning with a trip to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid activists were imprisoned. We will also ride the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain to enjoy stunning views across the city and bay.

DAY 9

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Enjoy a full day of exploration along the stunning Cape Peninsula, following the coast down to the Cape of Good Hope. The views from the lighthouse are stunning as you look down on the meeting of two oceans. Enjoy the beauty of Clifton and Camps Bay, gaze at the peaks of the Twelve Apostles, visit a penguin colony and see the famous wineries of Constantia.

STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA

Spend a leisurely morning in Cape Town before we depart for the famous South African wine region of Stellenbosch. Explore the town before heading to our lodge to check in.

STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA

Enjoy a day in the wine regions of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Visit two local wineries for tastings, and enjoy a cellar tour and group lunch overlooking the vineyards.

DAY 12

OUDTSHOORN, SOUTH AFRICA

Farewell the wine region and head to the coastal town of Hermanus, recognised as one of the best whale watching destinations, from where we’ll head out on a cruise to view the southern right whales. We continue on to Oudtshoorn via the Garden Route.

DAY 13

OUDTSHOORN, SOUTH AFRICA

This morning we’ll explore the Cango Caves – a series of hidden chambers cut deep into a thick limestone rock layer in the Swartberg Mountains. We then proceed to a local ostrich farm to enjoy a three-course lunch and guided tour.

DAY 14

KNYSNA, SOUTH AFRICA

We depart today for Knysna, a popular town in the heart of the Garden Route. Knysna is situated on a beautiful lagoon and surrounded by ancient forest. We’ll enjoy a boat cruise and lunch at Knysna Heads.

KNYSNA, SOUTH AFRICA

Today we further explore the Knysna area, including the Tsitsikamma National Park and the famous Storms River Suspension Bridge, as well as visiting Birds of Eden: the world’s largest free flight aviary and bird sanctuary.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, SOUTH AFRICA

Fly from George to Kruger International Airport and transfer to our lodge. Spend the evening enjoying the facilities of the lodge.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, SOUTH AFRICA

Today is a full day game drive, exploring the stunning scenery and wildlife of the Kruger National Park. Covering an area of 19,485 square kilometres, the world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa.

PRIVATE GAME RESERVE, SOUTH AFRICA

Following the Panorama Route, we visit a number of highlights including Gods Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels. After checking in to our private game lodge, enjoy your late afternoon game drive.

PRIVATE GAME RESERVE, SOUTH AFRICA

Embark on an early morning game drive before returning to the lodge for lunch and some down time. Explore different sections of the reserve today, enjoying sundowner drinks on your afternoon game drive where hopefully your checklist of the Big 5 sightings will be complete!
